The Progressive Dairy Farmer Association (Regd) Haryana, registered , is a old formed organization based at Village Gadli, PO Mathana, Pin-136131, District Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. Our mission is to foster the holistic development of the dairy sector by introducing modern farming techniques, providing technical support, and building a cooperative network. We recognize the vital role dairy farming plays in Haryana’s economy and are committed to empowering farmers with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed. Since our inception, we have been working to establish a strong foundation for sustainable growth in the region.
A key highlight of our early efforts was the recent visit by a German delegation in Sep- 2023. This group of 10-12 dairy experts and agricultural professionals visited Kurukshetra to study our association’s initiatives and Haryana’s dairy farming practices, which have earned the state the title "Milk Pail of India." They were particularly impressed by our adoption of advanced technologies, such as IoT-based systems for monitoring cattle health and automated milking systems, which align with European standards. The delegation also appreciated our focus on sustainability, engaging in discussions about potential collaborations to share knowledge and technologies, such as advanced breeding techniques to improve livestock quality.
We provide comprehensive support to our members through various initiatives. Our monthly seminars keep farmers updated on the latest advancements in dairy farming, covering topics like animal nutrition and breeding techniques. We also plan to publish technical books and guides to offer practical information on best practices. Additionally, we are exploring partnerships to import high-genetic-potential cattle semen, ensuring our members have access to superior livestock. The German visitors expressed interest in supporting this initiative, potentially facilitating access to European cattle breeds known for high milk yields.
Financial empowerment is a priority for PDFA Haryana. Through our partnership with UCO Bank, we offer low-interest loans to help farmers invest in infrastructure and livestock. Our collaboration with MILKFED Punjab ensures better milk procurement prices, directly boosting members’ income. Our mobile help van service delivers veterinary care and technical advice to farms, addressing health and operational needs. The German delegation noted the effectiveness of these programs, suggesting that similar models could benefit small-scale farmers in Europe facing similar challenges.
As a newly registered association, we are eager to expand our impact. Our upcoming International Dairy Show and Exhibition in 2026 will build on the momentum of the German visit, offering a platform for global collaboration. Held in Kurukshetra, this event will showcase high-quality cattle and innovative technologies, inspiring our members to adopt best practices. We invite farmers to join us, explore our gallery for images from the German delegation’s visit, and read testimonials from members who have benefited from our initiatives. With our registration, PDFA Haryana is committed to leading the dairy farming revolution in Haryana, fostering global connections like the recent German visit.
